Foundations of the Buddhist Path

with David Nichtern

Monday evening Dharma Talk series
in April & May from 8 - 9:30 pm

Perfect for beginners and experienced meditators
interested in a more complete view of the Buddhist path.

One of the unique qualities of the Buddhist "path" is that the fruition, the awakened
state of mind, is considered to be fully present from the very beginning. Still, we
speak of the ground, the path and the fruition as stages of development in the
     practitioner's journey.

This class will be a concise but potent view of the outlook and practices as presented
in traditional Tibetan Buddhism. Taking the awakened state as the ground of our
exploration, we will look into how the student can develop a relationship with his/her
"natural" mind, and begin to unravel the web of habitual patterns and obscurations
that keep us out of our mind, speeding around in circles and dwelling heavily in thoughts of
past defeats and future conquests (or vice versa!).

The class will be taught by OM's Director of Buddhist Studies and Practice, David Nichtern,
a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist lineage of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche.

Students of all levels are welcome (including brand new beginners). Students
are welcome to take the entire class as a series or each class individually.
