Saturday, December 3 Putting Down Roots; Growing Light Being grounded is the essential foundation for the physical and meditative practice of yoga. Indeed it is said that that lightness only comes from conscious heaviness. In this class we will take an in depth look at the feet, legs, and hips using poses such as hip openers, standing poses, and balances to seek the strong ground from which many asanas bloom to become light and juicy.
Sunday, December 4 Liberating the Upper Body Few of us are immune from the stress of modern life. This tension often settles as tight necks and sore upper backs and is as unwelcome as a winter coat on a summer day. These habits can be eased from the body with patient, strategic action that promotes consciousness where one has previously been unaware. We will explore this newfound liberation in a slow flowing practice that includes chest openers, twists and backbends.
