Description:
Yoga Therapy is a miraculously effective means to address even the most severe health condition and realize an increased sense of balance and wellbeing. Through a combination of lecture, discussion and case studies students will learn about specific health conditions and how Yoga Therapy can be used to help treat and heal:
·     Motor function and central nervous system conditions such as stroke, epilepsy and multiple sclerosis.
·     HIV and AIDs
·     Heart disease
·     Cancer & Leukemia
Students will learn to care for individuals, rather than disease pattern, or health conditions. Using breath, adapted postures and customized regimes anyone can enjoy and experience the benefits of yoga. Students will learn specific yoga sequences, hands on assisted stretches and postural release techniques, as well as contraindications for working with chronic and acute health conditions.

Bio:
Zack Kurland is a yoga therapist in New York City, where he resides with his wife and son. He is a member of the teaching staff at Om Yoga Center in New York City, where he trains teachers in Yoga Therapy. He is certified through the Heart of Yoga Association and a member of The Yoga Alliance and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. He has extensive experience working with chronic and acute health conditions, and has lectured at St. Vincent’s Cancer Center and the Arthritis Foundation. Kurland continues to educate himself in Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda in the US and India. He has written articles for, and has been featured in, Fit Yoga magazine and Yoga Journal and is sponsored by Lululemon Athletica.
